TORCHBEARERS OF CLASSICAL MUSIC

Dead Composers society is a new kind of classical music collective.

Dead Composers Society was founded on the belief that classical music is as relevant in the 21st century as it’s ever been. Yet, online content surrounding these composers and their music seems stuck in an “old-school” mentality of bone-dry information, elitism, and a straight face. This approach takes for granted something we’ve always known: that some of the most magical things in life require a bit of help to really get into. Through original video series, podcasts, and articles featuring new research, Dead Composers Society seeks to create a brand new movement which boldly asserts that this music is for everyone.

OUR MISSION

To inject life, personality, and a modern context into an art form that is threatened by a culture of instant gratification. In order for classical music to reach as many people as possible, we aim to wrap it in messaging that resonates with today’s audiences — while giving people the tools to continue exploring on their own.

“I should be sorry if i only entertained them. I wish to make them better.”

– Georg frideric Handel
